Pioneers of the British bearing manufacturing industry, the early 1900’s saw a fierce rivalry develop between Hoffmann & R&M Bearings. Not wanting to be outdone, their reputation for quality & accuracy gained them both world-wide acceptance as the pinnacle of bearing manufacturing.
A consorted war effort soon saw both companies raise their output & design specifications to suit the needs of a country during 2 World Wars. This infact saw the Hoffmann Bearing factory attacked by German aircraft & missile on several occasions.
In 1969 the rivalry would come to end as an amalgamation between the 2 companies, along with Pollard Bearings, would see them form the company they are today – RHP (Ransome, Hoffmann, Pollard).
December 1989 saw the closing of the original Hoffmann Bearings factory and sadly many imperial sizes historically produced have now become obsolete.
